Extra-Familial Harm
Freedom to Fly offers assessment of risks to children from extra-familial harm via their Child Exploitation Risk Evaluation Tool. This tool offers commissioners a robust trauma-informed, neurodiverse-sensitive, multi-dimensional approach to assessing robustness of safeguarding vulnerable parents and children from risks and harm from grooming and exploitation. It assesses risk holistically, considering the complex interplay of trauma, neurodiversity, history, and external influences that negatively impact children’s access to consistently secure and safe parenting. This tool analyses risk factors to provide commissioners with evidence of parent’s and/or children’s vulnerability, understanding of risk, safety factors, and approach to safeguarding approaches in households to those deemed vulnerable.
